Ward was born in MonroeLouisiana, on April 151976. Ward attended an exclusive Christian elementary school known as Monroe Christian School. In her secondary educationWard was a student at Ouachita Parish High School, but she moved to River Oaks High School on the summer after her senior year. There she was on the drill and dance team. She was a student at Northeast Louisiana University briefly after graduation. Ward began modeling at the age of thirteen. She left school to move into New York. The beginning of her acting career came after a few years further down the line. The first time she appeared on stage was in an uncredited part in 1970's soap drama All My Children, and she was later cast in an teen drama for NBC Premier-Time Malibu Shores. She landed the role of Meg Cummings, a virgin on Sunset Beach in 1996. In 1999, she began pursuing an acting career in the film industry, starring as her psychotic Brittany Foster in the erotic thriller The In Crowd. The film was not a huge success in cinemas, but did well with home-video and cable. In the following year, Ward starred in a supporting character in the movie Shallow Hal. In 2009she was cast as Chloe Kmet, the mother to a young girl in the ABC Family drama Make It or Break It. For her personal life, she is married to David C. Robinson. With him they had Cameron.
